Branded for life

Branded for life

"Just when I thought I was out they pull me back in "
M.Corleone : The Godfather III

Going to meet lots of people you've chatted to on the net , you want to make a good impression .So when I was heading down to the p45 meet at the weekend (in honour of the lovely K being in town ) I had to stop myself as I was walking out the door .....

Given the fact that I spend most of the time rabbiting on about old games and similar shite, I figured that the Atari T-shirt I had on was going to say >this man is a one trick pony<;in other words that I was so obsessed with computer games and cult stuff that I , even my wardrobe was based around them. So I went through the pile of clean clothes :

Transformers t-shirt: no
Godzilla T shirt, nope
Macron one t-shirt –nah
X files hoodie –uh uh
Autobot logo long sleve –negative
Godzilla versus mothra t shirt –Nein
“Glo-in-the-dark” voltron t-shirt –no chance
A holographic doctor from star trek : voyager t-shirt ( god NO!!)
Final fantasy VIII promotional shirt -oh ffs!!!

I was starting to realise I was a lost cause
So I was down to
A hairy jumper -too warm
A dell t-shirt -(from back in my bray days)
And an itchy short sleeve shirt, possibly woven from asbestos given my skins reaction to it…

...so itchy it was
I made my way into town thinking, “at least people wont think I’m a one dimensional nerd, even if they do think I ‘m infested fleas from the amount of scratching I’m doing “So I get to town and meet my good mate sleepy the dwarf, Sleepy’s just gotten back from the states. Hey dr_bob “;she says, after meeting me in Dr Quirkeys in o Connell st (you can take the arcade out of the geek, but getting a geek out of an arcade takes…well about 20 minutes judging by Saturday) “ I picked you up a present in the states “ and hands me this legendary t-shirt

(note from Bob'08 piccy is long since gone ,but it was a nice Pac man t-shirt)

Brilliant!!

I thought myself..”Who am I kidding I >am<>So when I got to the pub I wore my Pacman T-shirt with pride
(had a great night by the way and managed to meet a lot of the p45ers …)
So…anyone know where I can get an Atari logo tattoo?? :)
